Charlotte was the first memorial painting that I created for someone other than myself. I wasn’t sure if I would be just as emotional as I was when painting my own Heavenly pups. Turns out, I am super emotional when painting other people’s pups. Charlotte’s family rescued her from a shelter and she spent her life making everyone smile. Her sweet personality constantly made people stop and ask to pet her.

I decided to keep Charlotte’s coloring pretty light so that her eyes and markings would stand out the most, and the yellow outline makes her seem like she is surrounded by a sunny and bright halo.
